Course overview

Cats with constipation, obstipation and megacolon are challenging. In many cases, underlying diseases such as obesity, chronic kidney disease, osteoarthritis, and other comorbidities make treating and managing these patients difficult. Current treatment options will be discussed as well as preventative care using better nutrition and feeding plans for our feline patients.

Course Objectives

By the end of the talk participants should have a clinically functional understanding of:

  • Understanding and improving nutrition and feeding plans for your feline patients.
  • Earlier assessment of cats with common disease states that are at risk for constipation, obstipation and megacolon.
  • Know appropriate treatment recommendations for cats with constipation, obstipation and megacolon.
