Course overview
In this course, Dr. Fuerst will review the diagnosis and management of chronic kidney disease in dogs and cats.
Course Objectives
- Develop an understanding of the utility and interpretation of renal diagnostics.
- Review staging of chronic kidney disease.
- Evaluate the rationale for dietary therapy.
- Construct a working knowledge of the management of hypertension and proteinuria.
- Become familiar with indications for darbepoetin, ACE inhibition, and calcitriol.

Dr. Caitlin Fuerst is a board certified small animal veterinary internist. She has a broad scope of interests within internal medicine, and harbors particular enthusiasm for interventional endoscopic procedures and endocrine disease.
